The Markham Federation of Filipino Canadians is celebrating 25 years of success in Ontario. The formal gala event will be held on November 7, 2014 starting at 6:30pm at Crystal Fountain Banquet Hall at 60 McDowell Gate, Markham with tickets at $50 each. About the Awards
This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Markham Federation of Filipino Canadians. To commemorate this significant milestone, MFFC will hold a Dinner Dance Fund raising Event on November 7, 2014 Crystal Fountain banquet Halls located on 60 McDowell Gate ( off 14th Ave.), Markham, Ontario L6G 1B5. The highlight of this celebration is the presentation of the MFFC Distinguished Achievement Awards. These awards are intended to recognize and honor persons of Filipino heritage who have not just achieved distinction in their field of endeavor, bringing honor and prestige to the Markham community but have availed themselves to the community for community services. This year we extend this honor to the people in the community, regardless of heritage, who have supported our Filipino community in many ways.
The Federation invites you to nominate people that you feel are deserving of these prestigious awards. Nominators are required to be members of MFFC or residents of Markham.

Local Organization Hosts a Free Dinner and Seminar about Being Prepared
The Markham Federation of Filipino Canadians (MFFC) in partnership with Chapel Ridge Funeral Home will be hosting a free dinner seminar entitled, ‘Being Prepared Made Simple’. The session will provide valuable information and advice on wills and estate planning, funeral pre-planning, Canada Pension Plan, Old Age Security, and other related topics.
Dinner includes delicious Filipino cuisine and admission is free of charge.
Participants Learn Practical Computer Skills at MFFC Seminar
The Markham Federation of Filipino Canadians (MFFC) held a very informative and useful computer seminar on Sunday, November 21, 2010 located at the MFFC Centre in Markham. The event was targeted towards individuals who possess basic computer skills but wish to enhance their knowledge of their computers for practical, everyday usage. Topics included general computer operations, useful keyboard/mouse functions, managing files, surfing the Internet, and social networking, such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and more.
Successful Medical Fair Promotes Health and Wellness
Congratulations to a successful medical fair held by the MFFC (Markham Federation of Filipino Canadians) and the FCMA (Filipino Canadian Medical Association). The event was held at the MFFC Centre, Markham on Sunday, Sept 12, 2010.
The event brought together a group of skilled and experienced Filipino-Canadian professionals. Among
the prestigious line of guest speakers were physicians, cardiologist, urologist, pharmacists, dentists, psychiatrist, and other health care providers. The sessions included topics that addressed popular health concerns, including: prevention and early detection of cancer and other health risks, psychiatric illnesses,
erectile dysfunction, female health problems, youth and beauty, oral hygiene, and other health concerns.

Getting musical for Philippines relief

The Markham Federation of Filipino Canadians presents The Taste of Broadway-The Classics on Dec. 9 at the Markham Theatre.
Funds raised will go to the victims of the typhoons in the Philippines.
All performers and directors are donating their time and talents for this good cause.
Tickets are $ 35, $45 and $ 250.
The $250 will receive a receipt of $215 from Global Medic.
