Congratulations to a successful medical fair held by the MFFC (Markham Federation of Filipino Canadians) and the FCMA (Filipino Canadian Medical Association). The event was held at the MFFC Centre, Markham on Sunday, Sept 12, 2010.

The event brought together a group of skilled and experienced Filipino-Canadian professionals. Among
the prestigious line of guest speakers were physicians, cardiologist, urologist, pharmacists, dentists, psychiatrist, and other health care providers. The sessions included topics that addressed popular health concerns, including: prevention and early detection of cancer and other health risks, psychiatric illnesses,
erectile dysfunction, female health problems, youth and beauty, oral hygiene, and other health concerns.

MARKHAM - It was a shining moment for the Markham Federation of Filipino Canadians (MFFC), when its musical production, “Taste of Broadway, The Classics,” received a standing ovation from the audience of a packed concert hall.

At the Richmond Hill Centre for the Performing Arts where the huge musical production was staged last Saturday, Oct. 10, the pride and excitement of the performers, organizers and the volunteers were easily discernible from their big smiles as they acknowledged the finale’s applause.

May 23, 2009, Markham – The theme of the Markham Federation of Filipino Canadian’s 20th Anniversary Dinner/Fundraiser on Saturday night was “A Toast to Diversity”. It was also the setting for an announcement by the Hon. Michael Chan, MPP and Fatima Haji, a volunteer with the Ontario Trillium Foundation, that the organization has received a one year, $122,500 grant to renovate and expand upon their building, located on Denison Street.

 “A20th Anniversary is a special time for reflection about what has been achieved and where the future will take you,” said the Honourable Michael Chan, M.P.P., Markham-Unionville. “The Markham Federation of Filipino Canadians has made a strong contribution to our community and now, with this funding from the Ontario Trillium Foundation, there will be more room to offer support, learning and recreational activities”
